2011 California State Holstein Show and Spring Red & White Show

was held on April 22 at the Merced Fairgrounds.  Justin Burdette served as judge for the nearly 200 head brought by exhibitors from around the state.  Congratulations to all of the exhibitors on an outstanding show, and one of the largest in recent years.  Thank you to Karen Knutsen of Holstein World, and Carolina Evangelo for pictures.  Pictures are also on Holstein World's blog- visit this link.

2011 Redwood Empire Club Show

2011 State Sale

Sale catalog (pdf format)

"Holstein Heaven in 2011" State Sale was held on January 27th, in conjunction with the annual State Holstein Convention.  Sale chairmen Denny Murphy and Ken Melvold put together an offering of 35 picks of flushes, choices of calves, and embryos from CA breeders' best genetics.  The video sale was part of Host Night held at Ducey's Bar & Grill.  The 32 live lots averaged $3,080 and 3 embryo lots averaged $750 per embryo. High Seller at $5,900 was 1st choice Shamrock from Markwell Durham Mitzi VG-88.  The choice was consigned by Jim Wilson and purchased by Brian Waymire.
